Healthy Back Class

This five week series of therapeutic classes will focus on yoga asanas that fosters your overall well being and health of your back. Deepen your awareness of how the yoga principles of alignment, core stability, breath and movement aid in the healing of injuries, imbalances and offer insight into the process of strengthening the back. Asanas (postures) are taught in supine, prone, standing, sitting positions with breath awareness to develop strength and flexibility. Each person will also receive an individual session to assess your needs and develop an individual home practice.

 

Who: This class is intended for beginning or experienced yoga practitioners who would benefit from a gentle and individualized yoga practice geared to improve back health.

 

WHEN: Sunday afternoons 3:30-5:00pm / November 25th – December 23rd

Teachers: Bev Ingram and Carol Race

 

Bev is an occupational therapist and experienced yoga teacher. She has a special interest in helping students develop a home practice that supports their unique constituent. Bev is registered with Yoga Alliance as a 500 hour experienced yoga teacher and a certified Yoga therapist with International Yoga Therapy Alliance.

 

Carol teaches therapeutic yoga and is registered with Yoga Alliance as a 500 hour experienced yoga teacher. She completed yoga therapy training in 2015. Carol fosters a gentle and thoughtful practice to provide long lasting benefits.
